How to tell you have a Galaxy S25 Ultra

Open Settings > About phone. A US Galaxy S25 Ultra shows model number SM-S938U (AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon versions) or SM-S938U1 (unlocked).

  • Galaxy S26 Ultra (SM-S948U or SM-S948U1): the newer Ultra uses an Armor Aluminum frame and an ambient island camera design, while Samsung describes the S25 Ultra frame as titanium.
  • Galaxy S25+ (SM-S936U or SM-S936U1): a 6.7-inch display and three rear cameras. Samsung states the S25+ is not compatible with the S Pen.
  • Galaxy S25 (SM-S931U or SM-S931U1): a 6.2-inch display and three rear cameras, also without S Pen compatibility.

Why cases are model-specific

Samsung lists the Galaxy S25 Ultra at 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm (about 6.41 x 3.06 x 0.32 in) with a 6.9-inch display. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9 mm (about 6.44 x 3.07 x 0.31 in), so it is taller and wider but thinner. The Galaxy S25+ is 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm (about 6.24 x 2.98 x 0.29 in).

Camera layout

The S25 Ultra has four rear cameras: a 50 MP Ultra Wide, a 200 MP Wide, a 50 MP Telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a 10 MP Telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The S25 and S25+ have three: a 12 MP Ultra Wide, a 50 MP Wide and a 10 MP Telephoto.

S Pen

The S25 Ultra includes an integrated S Pen that Samsung says to keep inside the phone when you are not using it.

Will a Galaxy S26 Ultra case fit my S25 Ultra?

Choose the S25 Ultra option instead. By Samsung’s specs the S25 Ultra is 0.8 mm shorter, 0.5 mm narrower and 0.3 mm thicker than the S26 Ultra, and the S26 Ultra introduced a new camera island design.
