How to tell you have a Galaxy S26 Ultra

Open Settings > About phone to see your model name and model number. A Galaxy S26 Ultra sold in the US shows SM-S948U (AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon versions) or SM-S948U1 (unlocked).

  • Not a Galaxy S26+ (SM-S947U or SM-S947U1): the S26+ has a 6.7-inch display, three rear cameras and no S Pen support.
  • Not a Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S938U or SM-S938U1): the S25 Ultra also stores an S Pen, but Samsung describes its frame as titanium, while the S26 Ultra uses an Armor Aluminum frame and a new ambient island camera design.
  • Not a Galaxy S26 (SM-S942U or SM-S942U1): the S26 has a 6.3-inch display and no S Pen support.

Why cases are model-specific

Samsung lists the Galaxy S26 Ultra at 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9 mm (about 6.44 x 3.07 x 0.31 in) with a 6.9-inch display. The Galaxy S25 Ultra measures 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm (about 6.41 x 3.06 x 0.32 in), so it is shorter and narrower but thicker. The Galaxy S26+ is 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm (about 6.24 x 2.98 x 0.29 in).

Camera layout

The S26 Ultra has four rear cameras: a 50 MP Ultra Wide, a 200 MP Wide, a 50 MP Telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a 10 MP Telephoto with 3x optical zoom, grouped in what Samsung calls its ambient island camera design. The S26 and S26+ each have three rear cameras.

S Pen

The S Pen comes pre-installed in a designated slot of the S26 Ultra. Samsung notes that the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 FE do not support S Pen functionality.
